Start from Ffestiniog and head in the direction of Cwm Teigl, make your way up the short hill to Bwlch quarry 😀
Iit's not that bad 🙂
When you arrive the quarry, still working by the way, this is were you need navigation to find the path down to Cwm Penmachno.
Here is a Strava run that works its way back from Penmachno but goes to Blaenau instead of Ffestiniog.

Easy,
From the blaenau side go past the 30 mph turn sharp left, stay on the road and go under the bridge.
Stay on this Tarmac road it gets steeper as you go up towards manod quarry. Just as the Tarmac runs out take a right follow the track down towards a junction.
Turn right and head for an incline it's steep and slippy, from here you can pick up a track that runs down through a small forest and through a disused quarry. Superb decent ( take spare tubes)
Not done it for a few years and not sure of the "status"
