Today's top tip. Don't go for a bit of air on the barden moor descent if you are a useless xc mincer like me. Especially if you're too shit to land in the huge doubletrack beyond. It will smart a bit when you catch the rut edge and go down at 25mph.

Ouch! Get well soon and thanks for the top tip. Duly noted.

I'll add another one (from a while back admittedly)

When jumping, don't decide you're going to do a X-up but then chicken out when you actually leave the ground but then decide that you really should do it, just as you've reached the highest point without enough time to X-up and then straighten up...

I call it a cross-down... It hurts.

Ouch!

Hope there's not too much damage.

I rode over there on Saturday and nearly lost it on the first sharp right hander which was a bit looser than I'd bargained for. I was in full mince mode as well 😳

Just a big flappy hole that needs cleaning out and dressing. Blood was fairly impressive, ride back to town a bit of a tooth gritter too. Just pissed off because it's june, I'm finally getting over a lung problem and frankly its embarrassing!

Never underestimate the hurt to be caused by recent recovery and an excess of enthusiasm. GWS.

Just be thankful that you didn't find and fall off in the one muddy bit of the entire ride and then have to ride through town 😳 At least it must have looked like you'd been in the wars not auditioning for some dodgy mud wrestling comp!

Funny, it sounds like I did something similar a few months back (kitty litter on the trail, much slippier than I expected, hit my knee on a rock...). They gave it a good scrub as you're getting and told me it'd really hurt. It didn't. Not a bit. I reckon I've banged my knees so many times, the nerves are all dead...

Still that doesn't help your pain 😉 Sorry...

Time to keep my wheels on the ground on near-pancake flat doubletrack, more like. I could try Ed Oxley's 'Stop Showboating' session, I guess. 😀

EDIT: I also can't believe no-one briefly suggested a skills day, then rephrased it more kindly for the unfortunate prat of an OP...
