Think about what tasks you'll be doing where, and lay things out so you can get around stuff. For example I need to be able to get all the way around a bike on the stand, but I only need limited access to the tube bender. Stuff like that.

Epic. And i thought my line of screws on a bit of old decking was organised. needless to say, none of the tools are on the screws, they are strewn around the house.

I started out in a garage 😉

My advice still holds - think about what jobs you're going to be doing where. Not really time-and-motion stuff, but decide what you want to be able to do, and especially with bikes make sure you can fit the things in and still have room to get all around.

Big drawer integrates into the racking under the red tool chest and all my hammers are in there.

Keep my bike tools in there, have 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" socket sets, low entry aluminium jack hidden away.

Then a bike stand tucked away out of shot which I get down and fold the legs out when I need it.

Spare freezer in the corner and that's a TV above the road bike as my girlfriend uses the treadmill and does exercise videos that kind of thing on the matted area.

I spent a long time building it all up and making sure all the plastic boxes fit on the racking, just need to find somewhere to store those big square tabletops in the middle of shot. 120cm square so awkward to hide!

I've got one on those.

Ben Cooper - that's a Hase Pino on the poster on your 'shop wall, is it not? Do you happen to know if it's still possible to get them with a hand-cycle adaptation on the front seat?

That option adds £1250 inc. VAT. I don't have one here, but I've got the Kettwiesel Handbike if you want a look at that.

Yup - but I didn't build it, it's an Alex Meade jig modified a bit. I'm going to use the same stuff to make a jig for recumbents, though.

pillar drill lives in the corner now. behind the shelf

going to rearrange it soon though , once all the pikeys have left and i can have the doors open to move stuff out and put it back in how i want it .....shelves need turning and put agains the back wall and the bench between them.the bench on the RHS needs moving towards the front and the bike stand can go in that side opposite the tool stack so i have my tools to hand.

I don't at the moment, sorry - best thing to do is bung me an email and I'll make a note just in case I hear of one. Velovision.co.uk is also worth keeping an eye on.

Ok, cheers, I will email you. To be honest the cost might be a bit of an issue right now anyway but as you can probably imagine the options for such things are pretty limited so we're definitely open-minded as and when there's one available a little less than new-price!
