Morning All

Very close to booking a summer trip to Tignes this August, only thing is trying to find the best way to transfer from Geneva airport to Tignes. Don`t want to hire a car as on a budget. If anyone has any experience with connecting these two places with bikes that would be great to hear!

Thanks
Will

Have you already booked flights to Geneva?

How many people?

It can be a bit protracted even in Winter when the low-cost option is 'Ben's Bus'
Private transfers with the likes of The Coolbus can be expensive unless there is a big group of you. (Coolbus do uplifts in summer as well)

If you haven't already booked flights bourg St. Maurice is closer/cheaper for transfers

I was going to write something similar. Geneva to Tignes is neither quick nor particularly direct. I expect it'll be a 3 hour drive, so not sure there's a way to make it particularly cheap. Bourg Saint Maurice is much closer, but doesn't have an airport. If you have to fly then flight to Lyon and train to BSM?

Conversely, if you've booked flights to Geneva then maybe look for somewhere closer than Tignes...

These guys do transfers, or there is actually a bus, though not sure if it runs in the summer.

The other option is to just drive, its a day each way but at the end of the day with bikes its probably easier.

We did it at Easter for skiing, used TTV transfers, private transfer for 4 was €320 each way, expensive for just 2 of you, vehicle can take 8 plus driver.

Four of us did GVA to Tignes this winter. We looked at a few options, cheapest was private transfer with Coolbus.

You may be able to get a train to Bourg St Maurice which is much closer to resort but it didn't work for us.

I have just sorted the same sort of trip.

Fly into Lyon, then bus to Bourg.

Don't know regards getting up the valley to Tignes, probably a bus but Bourg is better so why bother.
