Looking at picking up a Genesis Volare to get back into road a bit hopefully. Probably not the stainless 953 version but a cheaper 853 one instead.
I had a Ritchey Logic Road for a bit which I loved, but found the geometry just a little too low at the front for me. Size for size the Genesis has a slightly taller stack height which should just about work for me. But how do they ride?
Looking to downsize my collection and free up some cash and go to just one reasonably nice road bike (from the 2 I have currently that I don’t ride for various reasons!), good condition Volares seem to go for around £5-600 on eBay with reasonable quality kit, I’m thinking this could be a sound purchase possibly.
Anyone care to chime in with their ownership experiences?
Cheers, that thread was all I needed to push me to it I guess!
Picking this up in the next few days...

Less than 500 miles from new apparently and cost me £485! Can't be bad.
Will see how I get on with the Campag, I've ridden it before on short rides and got on OK, but never owned it before. Given that the whole bike is costing less than I sold my Ritchey frame for, there's room in the budget for a groupset upgrade if I don't get on with it... That said... There's also a 55cm Condor Super Acciaio on ebay right now too that is rather lovely!
Lovely - what is it, Athena? Change the chainset for sure.
That iteration with the straight headtube looks much better than the newer tapered ones IMO.
Cripes I almost wish my road bike would get stolen so I could get an eBay bargain!
