Thinking about steel hardtail. found one for sale....2017, plus tyres, ridged fork. thinking about maybe swapping the fork for something about 140mm and using as a general train bike. Anyone had one? experience? thoughts?

Lovely bikes. Great geometry, well put together and great amounts of grip/drive.

The only issue is they are slightly portly. Depends on your fitness/amount of hills

ah, are they very weighty? I usually ride a YT capra and get on fine with that some assuming it will be trim on comparison?

Think we've had a few tarn threads. Here's one

They are designed for a 120mm fork, if that helps. Mine’s in 29er format. I use it for everything and I don’t feel short of front travel

I've got a large 29+ tarn and don't feel it's that heavy at all. Rides well and is made really nicely. I like it so much I just bought a Genesis Fugio going it will be made as well.
