Been looking at my first venture onto big wheels and the Genesis High Latitude 20 has caught my eye. Anyone got one and what are they like?

Spec looks ok for the money and I've always liked a good steel frame. Any reason I shouldn't go for it?

I've never ridden one but I bet they are great. However IMHO it's a bike that should have track mounts. I realise that this is probably irrelevant to you but we seem to be entering world where being versatile has become a specialism

Genesis annoyingly always seem to do the colour I like best on the cheapest bike in the range rather than on the spec I actually want (the red CDF10 and the blue High Latitude are both nicer looking bikes than the next models up) I was looking at the High Latitude 20, it's a decent enough spec for the money but the dull grey puts me off (and it looks worse in the flesh than it does in photos)- I am now contemplating getting the green frame and building it up with a deore groupset and a mix of new, secondhand and bits and bobs I have lying around.

We have an older version in our hire fleet. They're great. Will be replacing them this year and feel the same as holdsteady about the colours!

So in short a solid bike with gopping paint! I actually think I like it from the pictures, must be in the minority on that one. Guess I'll have to track down a dealer to check one out properly!

Thanks guys

I think mine is chuffing brilliant.

Un-fashionably 'neutral', with a hint of hooligan.

"Un-fashionably 'neutral', with a hint of hooligan."

Now that sounds like just the sort of thing I'm after 🙂
