I've just put a deposit on one of the above and I'll be getting it this week, obviously the stock Conti X-King aren't exactly going to be brilliant in the current winter mud fest conditions and being rigid I fancy fitting some big grippy tyres for a bit of extra bounce & traction.
Any clues on the max tyre size that you can get in the frame?
I run X king 2.4 on mine...No problem. Rode in the BearBones 200 which was sloppy and wet and had no lack of grip problems...
Cheers
I run a WTB Prowler 2.1 in the back of mine (Adventure) and wouldn't/ couldn't get a much bigger tyre in there.
What about the fork clearance as that's what I'm most bothered about. It'll invariably have a storm or mud x on the back
My mates bike shop has fortitudes for 700 quid, I'm really straining at the leash!.
No clearance issue at all on the front - plenty room.
Run Bonty 29-4 2.3" all round on mine.
One in Halifax by any chance nobeer?
I'm thinking those 23-4's, Hans dampfs or rubber queens
No, ayrshire, sprockets cycles.
The sprockets website has them at 999, 700 and i would have had one.
Phone them, ask for Craig.
Which one the Greg? The race? Been so tempted.
Just noticed spocket cycles have the Fortitude Race for £650!!!! for the full bike. Shame it's a 17.5 otherwise it would be mine.
Aye, too wee for me too!.
19 inch race here for 699

i ride a ss and theres plenty of tire clearance. 2.4 mountain kings on mine.
There you go, Rik!
19 would be my size
You not tempted Greg?
I've had the SS a year now. Love it. I run the 29.4 bontys. Plenty of room.
