I've got an old Garmin Edge 800 which let's you compare times against a previous ride, or if you plan it in software that estimates times. Doesn't integrate with strava like the newer ones.
There's a local hill that takes about 25 minutes for me to climb, but it's not a constant gradient, it's almost parabolic getting steeper until right at the top.
I could probably write a formula based on the gpx data in excel to do it, but is there anything online that would let you input a power in watts and it generate a gpx of the climb? Seems like the sort of thing a roadie with time on their hands might have done.
Basically I think I could probably do it in 20 minutes with some practice, and want to be able to pace it properly without a power meter.
Why not see if you can grab the data from the activity of someone who's done it in about that time and then use that?
I've not used it in ages, but Ghostracer Pro for Android used to let you pick segments of intrest and get announcments (plus visual display) of how you are doing compared to a previous attempt.
That would work, but I don't think strava lets you, not without paying anyway.
Just found Kommot kinda does it, it let's you adjust the speed but I'm not sure if it compensates for gradients (and it cant be fine tuned, you just get options of "athletic" or "pro" fitness. ).
The ghostracer kinda works, just needs an option to generate an artificial ghost based on a weight and guesstimate for aero drag. But I think it will work if I just ride it and aim to keep the 'speed +/-' figure at +2 km/h or thereabouts.
This link lets you grab Strava rides from people even if you aren't a premium member. I use it all the time.
