Hi all,
My old 27.5+ Longitude had a broken frame, so I bought a Big Bro (BB) 29er, which is a rigid frame but takes 100mm sus forks.
I have a pair of Boost Rockshock Rebas 27.5, but the hub on the BB is only 100mm so doesn't fit. With much faffing, I put the wheelset and forks on the BB - it handled like an absolute pig compared to the 29er 2.4" wheels I had one. Wow, I hated it. Makes the bike so sloppy and slow.
Anyway, not happy with that. But would like the option of shocks, so thinking to sell my wheelset and forks, and buy a 29er, but that also means buying a new wheel. Kinda expensive.
If other MTB'ers see me running a 2.4 650b tire at the front with a 29er at the back, will they hunt me down and beat me to death with their seatposts? Does it affect geometry? Should I just buy a set of 29er forks?
Thanks in advance,
FM.
Just get some 29 inch bits.
I’d just sell it and buy the bike you really want as a package that all works together with the correct standards.....
