Have one of these and like it a lot, except for two issues:
1. The wishbone seatstays catch mud, a lot of mud, much of which is also flung into the front mech. Any guard-widgets that could help?
2. Bike is I suppose fairly light overall for mid/low spec, yet seems proportionally heavy in the rear, decided it wasn't the wheel as that seems not too bad by itself, could it be the brake assembly or frame?
Anyone else had/have one? Looking for clues without having to strip it.
The cassette will be a lump, as will the rear hub. The tyre could also add quite a bit if it's a steel bead. The mech isn't the lightest. The biggest benefit for the cost would probably be tyre / cassette / hub / mech
Thnks tomd,
Tyres are variously folding fire xc pro or folding trailrakers,
Agree with the cassette, although hefting the wheel alone doesn't account for all of it.
Wondering if the cranks b/b (Alivio) are also acting like anchors...
