You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Morning All, I've recently swapped all of my kit from the full sus on to a hardtail frame.
I'm having an issue where when running in the smallest cog if I change up it changes up two gears instead of one, same on the down change as well. All of the other gears work as expected.
There are no new shifters or anything, just new inner cables during the transfer to the new bike.
Any ideas on what could be wrong?
Too much tension and/or you may need to check your high&low adjustment
i doubt it will be the cable tension. if there was too much cable tension, when the chain moves up the cassette it would continue to overshift and would continue to jump an extra cog.
also if the limit screws were already set up correctly on the previous bike then it should still work on the new frame...but its worth checking. i'd also suggest checking the b tension screw is set up for the new frame. also check the the mech hanger is straight
Okay thanks, i'll have a play this evening to see if it's over tensioned.
Wear in derailleur necessitating improper set-up...bent hanger...cable contamination/routing...
Try new inner and outer cables first.
