I am looking for a set of +/-50mm carbon disc wheels for my incoming BMC Teammachine SLR01. The bike has Mavic Ksyrium Disc UST wheels (2019) which I believe have a quoted weight of 1,690g.
My criteria are as follows:-
They must be the same weight or less than the Ksyrium wheels (so I can gain the aero benefit without gaining any weight disadvantage).
They must be +/-50mm (I see little point in 30-40mm rims if I am seeking an aero benefit).
They must be centrelock (I would like to continue to run the Shimano Freeza rotors that come with the bike.
They must also be 12mm axles (as per BMC spec)
I am not too bothered about whether they are tubeless-ready or not (but no tubular wheels). I will run the wheels with the supplied Vittoria Corsa tyres and possibly latex or Tubolito inner tubes to reduce rotational mass (as the wheels are disc wheels, I am assuming that the guidance against using latex tubes with carbon wheels does not apply as there is no brake track to heat up)
Self-imposed Budget is up to GBP1,000 / Euro 1,150 including shipping to Portugal. I would prefer to pay GBP as this saves me from any credit card currency conversion costs.
Here is the kicker... They need to be immediately available for shipping. For this reason, I do not want to pre-order (ie Hunt), or go down the Farsports et al route. I am hoping to get back to the UK sometime soon and I don't want a set of wheels to arrive in Portugal when I am back here in the UK.
So far, my shortlist includes:-
Zipp 302 (top of budget, but perhaps more in keeping with the BMC level of quality). 1,695g true weight - Euro 1,099.00 from Mantel
Bontrager Aeolus Pro 5 TLR - 1,699g true weight - Euro 1,107.00 from Sigmasports
Fulcrum Wind 55DB - 1,715g true weight (so heavy) - Euro 939.00 from Mantel
Vision SC55 - 1,680g claimed weight - Euro 999.00 from Mantel
Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon UST - 1,679g true weight - Euro 995 from Wiggle (These are only 45mm profile though and the Cometes are too heavy and too deep for general riding)
Token Prime Konax Pro Disc - 1,452g - 1,514g claimed weight - Euro 1,109 from CRC
Acebike (Yishun) Pro DT350s 55mm TLR - 1,610g claimed weight - Euro 749 (from their European warehouse - just waiting on confirmation of stock)
Mantel R50D TLR - 1,655g true weight - Euro 746.66 from Mantel
Cero RC50 disc - claimed weight 1,471g - Euro 795 from Cycledivision
The Zipp wheels are appealing, but I guess this is down to the brand. After this, the Token Prime Konax wheels look like a very safe option. In third place, the Acebike (Yishun) wheels appeal on account that they have DT Swiss hubs and a good weight.
Thoughts, suggestions?
cheers
Get YoHandsome to sell you his, after all he's already told us how badly the cosmetic wobbles in the carbon is going to affect the resale value and hes knackered the bushing in the DT freehub trying to bodge the springs to be silent so you should get a bargain 🤣

I have no idea how I’ve missed this update 😂
I've no idea if he's actually selling them, but he keeps banging on about resale value so surely only a matter of time?
On a serious note, have you looked at the Prime wheels on CRC? Half your budget so even if the hubs do fail in a few years you've got money in the bank for new ones.
not disc version unfortunately (that would push them over budget)
I had a set of Prime v2 50mm disc clinchers on my (now sold) Kinesis Racelight GF Ti Disc. They were great (on account of price), but pretty heavy.
I've bought a really lightweight bike and I want to try to keep that theme going, especially as while I am stuck out here in Madeira, it's not exactly flat terrain! (and I'm fed up with pushing my heavy Canyon Strive CF 7.0 up the road hills!)
bontrager wheels have a 2 year no questions asked replacement policy. Always worth considering.
I’d find £200 more and order Roval CL50, available from Sigma today.
