For some odd reason, nobody is booked on Gawton tomorrow, friday, it's fully booked sat. Anyone fancy it, trails are dryish, good grip, its going to peak at 6 degrees, its well sheltered there anyway with little wind. It's going to be classic.

Well it turns out 7 people went on the uplift, had an awesome time. Trails are dry and fast, Only rode Proper Job and Super Tavi, but both are in excellent condition.

Going again tomorrow after first visit last Saturday, but not with the uplift.

Should be nice and dry - albeit freezing. 🙂

Love Gawton... an uplift might be nice as I always make a point of pedalling up the push up... not as bad as it sounds as I have only ever ridden my HT there (Sov with 36s).

Is the uplift going to be a regular thing now and is the hut/cafe whatever in use yet... great place.

Yep the uplift runs fri to monday every week. It's run by flyupdownhill who have been operating the Forest of Dean uplift for the last 3 years. It's a slick operation with a fast turnaround. The hut has basic teas n coffees, cakes, crisps, chocs and pasties, pizzas.

That is great news... I only ever get there in the week when working down that way and like the fact it is quiet but I am pleased that it is up and running on the weekends.

Do you still need to pay the day rate to ride on top of the uplift fee??

Yeah its a 5 on top, or buy annual membership for gawton and pay 5 less on the uplift.
