Planning a US trip for next year, and our problem is: IOM flights land in Gatwick; there’ll be 8 of us, plus bikes and bags; has anyone had this to deal with, and found a,cost effective, reliable, solution?

Not had cause to use them, but there are frequent direct coaches between Gatwick and Heathrow. Details here.

Edit: as above...
National Express coach. £20-£25pp departs roughly every 30mins.

Could you fly with Norwegian? They fly from Gatwick to quite a few US destinations.

National Express. If you have a bit of time to spare, it might be worth splitting the group on to two buses at peak times.

Another option which may be cheaper and easier for a group would be to call round a few local taxi companies in Crawley, Redhill, Horsham etc and explain your needs. There are quite a few mini buses with local taxi companies, and some might have a trailer.

Minibus with trailer for the win I reckon. Split the cost between 8 and price shouldn't be too bad as it's not actually that far to travel. Far more convenient than splitting up on coaches too.

Would the IMO to Dublin plane be big enough for 8 bikes?
