I am not having any luck with these. The first set worked for a while and then stopped. The second developed a weird software issue. The third drops in and out.

Garmin always very helpful and keep replacing them.

Anyone got a set that works?

Not heard many good things about those.
Out of curiosity, what made you opt for the garmins over the Assioma?
I’ve got a staged at the moment but want to swap to pedal based, was looking at the Garmins, but too many negative write ups.

Think there’s an issue with the battery fit. At the base of the batteries is a little contact tag which springs out. After time it gets pushed away from the batteries causing drop outs. Best way to solve this is stick a thin slice of wine cork under the contact tab to hold it in place.

@w00dster - I have a set of Assiomas coming from a crank-based PM. Have been faultless over the last 6 months. I have flown with them twice and put them on hire bikes, hit "calibrate" and ridden off without a second thought.

Vanilla bikes have a permanent £25 off > £500 so they are the cheapest I think.

First set hardly ever worked, even after battery replacement. Replacement set seem to be working OK so far although weirdly they were reporting odd L/R balance (41/59) today. Will recalibrate them and hopefully will sort them. Not the best experience tbh

I like mine, but then again I don't ride in the rain.

Mine are ok. Need baby oil on the batteries to be reliable though.

I've got the Assiomas, friend has the Vector 3s. All seem to be working fine, the only thing my pedals are missing is the cleat offset measurement.

if the power keeps dropping out then the battery contacts could just need a good clean, that was the issue with mine. baby oil is supposed to help stop this happening.

Mine have been fine since I added a drop of baby oil to the batteries.

I'm going to try baby oil right now.

I didn't know about the Assiomas (which have incredible reviews) - My Vector 3s were originally bought in Dec '17. My most recent replacements from Garmin came a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks all

SUCCESS!!

84km ride with no drop outs.

I’ve only just received the replacement pedals from Garmin. The batteries had the smallest hint of oil on them so I put a little more on the batteries and contacts.

Thanks once again.
