Second bike with rubber genuine Garmin rubber mounts on has snapped...two in a week....now I'm that concerned that it's down to the cold weather making the bands become brittle in some way or something else in my cleaning regime that's making them snap or is it that Garmin rubber mounts are utter shite and they need to sort them out?
The first ones that have snapped are less than a year old......anyone else had a lot of them snap over a range of bikes ie each bike has its own mount to stop the bands from getting nicked and weakened by moving from bike to bike.
Is this why folk end up loosing their Garmins when out on rides?

I have to say I've (touch wood) not had a problem with the bands snapping in the 2+ years I've been using Garmins.

I can imagine quite a few cleaning products could "attack" the compound the bars are made of.

Must be the cold. I've never snapped one. I tend to use K-Edge for road and Sram off road, largely so they are easier to read. But the O rings are robust.

Another 'never snapped one' here, over three years use on lots of different bikes. Having said that I do check them from time to time and have binned a couple that were looking a bit ropey, so they do wear out eventually.

Mmmm, I did wonder if it's the Duck Smart mud cleaner or the Muc Off water dispersant stuff as they've only pinged since I've started using these instead of Muc Off cleaner as I find neither set off my dermatitis.
The Duck Smart is Ph neutral so I would be surprised if it is that!
