I bought a set of the Garmin rs100 pedals and so far I'm really impressed with them. However, I'm getting a little bit of buyers remorse and I wished I had bought the rs200 pedals. The 100 versions only has one pedal with a power meter in it and the 200 both of them with power meters in them.

Am I better off selling the RS100s and then buying some rs200s or trying to get the single rs100 upgrade pedal from somewhere? I've been looking around and no one seems to carry it - at least no one seems to have it in stock?

I appreciate this as a roadie problem but what would single track world do?

What do you think your'e missing by only having the one Power Meter?

FWIW I bought the Magene PES505 Base PM cranks as I thought the Garmin offering was a bit rich for my limited use of the data but you might have more need of that level of accuracy than I do.

Garmin Connect has some funky graphics which look a little odd for one leg only...😃

It's more that I would like to see how much each leg is putting out... At the moment I only see overall power but I cannot see cycling dynamics. It's also bugging me that there is a screen in the 1030 which is obviously meant to be used with somebody with rs200 pedals which has two power meters which currently sits there blank as I only have a single power meter !

@scotroutes how are you getting on with them?  I keep considering them (or the various other Chinese spider PM's) as while I can see how ~£750 of garmin pedals would be 'better' all I really want is something to pace me up hills and ~£350 seems reasonable for that including some chainrings (reviews seem to suggest both the PES and Zrace cranks have issues).

I also liked that they do a version that takes both 5 and 4-arm chainrings so I could strip and polish some Rival cranks but keep Shimano chainrings.

Unless you have a massive imbalance (most people don't) it isn't worth it.

Just hide that page on your garmin and try and forget about it.

I borrowed a dual sided SRM before i bought my current set up and have used loads of dual sided ones over the years. I get just as much useful data from a single sided Stages as i did from a £2000 SRM.

If i was contesting the mountain top finishes in the Vuelta, i'd get another SRM. Wouldn't pay 2k for it though!

My Magene cranks have been just fine. I bought the Magene rings with them but I still have the Shimano cranks I took off too, so I've kept them as "spare".

No issues with fitting, no creaks or clicks, battery seems to last ages and is easily recharged using a small battery pack. I might buy a spare charging cable though as it's a proprietary connector. My Garmin Edge finds them immediately and doesn't seem to lose them at any point.

I've not tried fitting the PES equipped bike on my Neo 2T trainer in order to do a side-to-side comparison of accuracy but the general figures being thrown out are pretty much in line with my Neo. Same goes for L:R balance where I'm ever-so-slightly mis-aligned.

Favero Assioma pedals are £380 (single sided) and can be swapped between bikes easily. Good reviews on DC Rainmaker as well

I've got the single sided MX as I use SPD cleats on my mountain AND road bikes

I considered that but beyond a bit of data gathering I'm not sure I'd get much use out of them on the gravel or MTB's.  The other place I might use it is on the track bike, but that would have to be road pedals.  Which leads me towards getting a set of RS200 (probably cheekily on C2W).

I saw a couple of reviews pointing to them being quite flexy? I'm a big guy so that would worry me a bit.  My half baked idea was to either polish some Rival cranks or sand down and varnish some Force cranks to remove the branding and suit my OCD.

Haha, I think at best I could be described as approaching middle aged and tubby.  I'm no Greipel.  Although I can feel the difference between the cranks on different bikes.

I have the dual sided Assioma Mx spds (excellent btw and cheaper than the Garmin's). I have never ever looked at the dual sided stuff. Id get the single sided ones.

Has anyone bought the Assioma MX2s direct from the Favero site? They are cheaper than UK suppliers, and more importantly are in stock, but obvs I'd have to pay some import tax on top. Guessing that's 20% ish?
