There's an interesting article on Garmin Rumours about a partnership between Garmin & Komoot.
To be honest I never really got on with Komoot (I prefer RideWithGps) but I do like their map and going forward it looks like Komoot map will be available on Edge devices (unless they're referring to Connect).
Anyway, details here -

I wonder if it'll be via Garmin's Connect+ offering...or will it be similar to Trailforks where you can start sections and get a Trailforks map of the trails around you*?
* I don't actually know what Trailforks can do on the Garmin device, I have it and it shows a map of where I am, but I tend to ignore that...so my understanding could be absolute mince.
Having read it fully now, I think it is more than the Trailforks app thing...also an appropriate time with Strava taking Garmin to court.

Strava seem to be backing down on that, having created a whole load of fuss.
Garmin + Komoot could be interesting. Garmin's existing slightly flaky route planning plus Komoot's terrible user interface could result in a completely unusable set of mapping!
