I've had my Edge 1000 since 2015. And it's been perfect on my Sony Xperia z5 and HTC U11 uploading instantly.
I've just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S9 and it will not sync at all. Garmin says phone connected, they both find each other via Bluetooth but it won't upload rides to Garmin connect/Strava. Keep saying upload failed.
Checked in Garmin connect app and says no devices connected.
Also it's romping through it's battery. 100% to 15% after a hour.
Is it ****ed?
Can you re add the device in Garmin connect? Not ideal, but I’ve had success with that approach in the past.
BT Sync via the Connect App or via BT? Sounds like it's searching a lot which would be using the battery potentially.
Have you tried a ride with bluetooth off to see what the battery is doing.
My garmin has just started with Bluetooth issues yesterday. Can't get it to link to the phone. Probably another stupid software update.
Won't find it in the app when you go to my devices. Tried reinstalling the app and still can't find it.
The phone is connected to the device, switch the garmin on and it connects to my phone. But its not syncing with the app.
Tried forget device on the garmin and reconnected.
Reinstalled the app twice.
Still nothing.
I'm sure you have but have you tried forgetting the device on your phone as well?
If it's any consolation I can't get my 820 to connect automatically like it used to. I have to open the Connect app which is annoying.
Yup tried it all. Tried factory reset on Garmin device also.
Still won't connect.
However it received a text message, but won't upload anything to phone.
All software updates done? Might be the phone...mate has one and it doesn't work with a few of his things...I'd suggest the phone is more likely to be the issue and it doesn't seem to have any updates to fix the phone I.e. It isn't the apps at fault.
Thinking it's the phone to. Connected to my HTC no issues.
Problem is the HTC battery has failed so that's why I'm on the Samsung S9.
I'm not on Garmin. I use an igpSport bike computer. Its the devil of a job getting the unit to talk to the app. The unit is excellent but doesn't like to talk to the app. I've had long conversations with the developers in China who claim that the app is fine. Their forum reports few problems. My phone is a new Samsung and the only explanation left is that there is something in the phone causing the problem.
I've given over using the app and just connect the unit to my PC and download the fit file direct to Strava. Not ideal, but then neither is the thought of shelling out £200 or so on a new unit. I'm not obsessed with Bluetooth automatic downloads, live Strava apps or immediate notifications on my handlebars of phone calls, texts etc. I accept I may be different from the norm!
Maybe OP also has something in his phone similar to mine.
There are many threads on here about bike computer/phone connectivity problems.
Funnily enough, my phones a Samsung as well.
Hmmmmmmm?
