Hi.
I’ve got an Edge 530 and on some rides it works fine, but other times it gets to about 250m of height gained then just stops recording the amount of climbing.
This happens a lot on The Wall or The Gap (Brinmore Tram Road Climb).
I’ve tried a GPS Soak as Garmin advised but no help.
Anyone having similar problems.
Thanks

My Lezyne Super GPS has always given dodgy elevation data to some degree, think it's a common problem with GPS computers that have barometers even though they are supposed to be better!

On a PC, load up the ride summary page on Strava and then hit the blue "correct elevation" to use Strava's database. I usually correct the mileage too.

My 520 stops updating the altitude gain when it rains or gets wet but when I upload the file to Strava it shows the correct total.

As above, try the correct elevation button in Strava

Mine doesn’t seem like to rain, thick cloud or trees.
I can’t seem to correct the elevation on Strava.
My Garmin 530 gets to about 250m or 350m of ascent done, then throws it toys out of the pram. If i notice it’s done it I stop, save the ride and start again.
Very frustrating.
Is it a common problem?
Will a replacement head unit sort it?

My Garmin always under reads elevation, has done it since new (Edge Explore)

Not too fussed as when i see how little elevation Ive done it pushes me to do more (i forget the Garmin is under reading)

When i upload to Strava it gets automatically corrected and im surprised by how much elevation Ive done!

Was it raining?

If so try wrapping it in clingfilm.

It could be an issue of the pressure sensor getting clogged with mud or water. My old 705 used to suffer from this when I had it out front on the bars. I resolved the issue by mounting it on the top tube just behind the steerer, all my head units get put here now. All they have to contend with now is sweat.

My 530 produces utter garbage in elevation terms. Garmin haven't got back to me yet. My Garmin watches are much more accurate, so accurate data can be done
