Thinking about getting a GPS as I'm starting to ride in new areas and getting shown around and not remembering the trails. Basically would like a GPS that will keep track of where I've been and be able to load GPX files on it so I can plot out local rides and ones that people have emailed me. Seen a few Garmin 705's on here and wondering if they are any good? What are my options with in £150ish budget?

Cheers

Dan

I started with a Garmin Foretrex 201 that cost £30 second hand. I still use it as a bike computer and trip recorder for use with Memory Map. It does the .gpx thing perfectly, and gives directions on preloaded routes.

Do you need to spend £150 to try it out?

I'm about to sell a Garmin Dakota 20 that does exactly what you're looking for. I bought it last year but never use it. E-mail me if interested.
