Found a garmin near leith hill, if you lost one let me know. Obviously not giving away to many details as Trump will bring claiming it's his and he's got all the KOMs. Garmin contact no very busy at the moment but I'll try it again later

It's worth putting a name and contact number on the boot screen. Look in the Garmin folder for startup.txt to something like:

<!-- Edit this file to display a message while your unit is powering on -->
<!-- Allow one full power cycle after editing for your message to be updated -->

<!-- Set the display number to the minimum number of seconds your message is displayed -->
<display = 10>

<!-- Type your message on the next line -->
My name
My phone
My email

If your garmin takes a lanyard like the newer models such as the 520 it's worth looping it around your stem before putting it on the mount, that way if it pops off it will hang around the bike instead of disappearing.

If it doesn't belong to icklestu, maybe try uploading to Strava and then checking Flybys. Common starting points for routes might give an address

Had a look at routes and all different places that you would drive to. Forgot to pube gamrin today but I'll do it tomorrow and see what happens. Wasn't icklestu's unfortunately.

Bit of a pain but maybe upload one of the historic courses to your strava and see who you supposedly did it with?! Likely theirs, or a friends garmin!

Garmin got back to me after I emailed them, sending prepaid envelope to collect and will reunite with original owner. All good.

Well done that man!

If nothing else, registering your device can help in situations like this.

Worth repeating my first post about the startup screen and that of zerolight's about the lanyard.
