If it's a modern kind. Plug it into your computer, possibly might have routes on it which might give you an idea of the owners location to target news of your find.

Narrowing down the location may help people ever so slightly.. Personally know of at least 2 people who've lost Garmins at opposite ends of the country (well quantocks and Peak District).
