Garmin Edge Explore 2 issue? Rerouting slow.

I’ve noticed on my last couple of rides that my Explore 2 is slow to reroute if I go off course.

At least I think it’s slower than it used to be.

Yesterday following a pre loaded GPX I went maybe 100m past a turn, far enough for it to need to reroute to get back to the track. I’d already turned around as I’d realised and was now heading the right way but the map has disappeared from the screen (still showed the north arrow and the zoom buttons). What felt like ages later, although it was no more than 30seconds probably, the map popped back up with the navigation line.

I noticed it another couple of times on recent rides too.

Has anyone else had the same? Is this normal or maybe a software update that’s messed it up? Or a setting I’ve accidentally changed?

Cheers

I've got the original Explore and after an update a few months ago it's now got horrendous lag. Mostly on button/touchscreen pushes - tap screen > nothing happens > nothing happens > tap again and suddenly it'll do 2 or 3 changes as the inputs register. The lag on navigation isn't quite as noticeable but it certainly there. Doesn't help that it records a junction as the absolute middle of the road so when it's telling you to take a turn in 100ft, it actually means 75ft once you take road width/junction layout into consideration. So it doesn't understand it's gone past it until you are actually well past it, hence the lag.

Mine has also started getting very flaky readings - I'll be cruising along a flat road and it'll show (eg) 15mph, 15, 15, 12, 8, 8, 15, 15, 15.
It's frequent enough now to noticeably affect average speed and distance readings.

I've got no lag at all on anything other than the one issue. My wife's Explore 1 is OK too but knowing what she's like with updating things is probably running a much older version than you...

Yesterday we were both following the same route and both went to the same "wrong" point, I'm pretty sure hers just quickly said off course, prompted to re-route which she ignored, then course found, map stayed up the whole time.
