Hmm on garmin site it’s 449? That’s about the best price I’ve seen so far though

A 2min search didn't bring up a bargain 840, but Sigma have the 1040 at £398...

Yeah I don’t fancy a 1040 it’s too big for what I need I’ll keep searching hoping a site pops up with 20% off

That's from the Garmin website with STW members discount. Maybe consider subscribing.

The members discount is worth having. When I bought my 840 and a radar light I saved £80 with my members discount.

Yeah you can easily save way more than the cost of the subscription with a single purchase. Do it a few times and you'd be made not to.

Off topic slightly but I bought an Exposure MaxxD a month or so back, the singletrack discount more than paid for a years subscription!!
Can you get OS maps onto the 1040?

I don't think so. As far as I am aware only the hiking orientated Garmins like the 64, 66 etc do OS maps.

There's a new one on eBay (not mine) for £385. Today's potential 20% Quidco cashback would bring it down to £308 with a possible further £5 bonus. Usual caveats around buying from eBay and cashback tracking apply (may not).
