had to format the unit of my edge 520 plus, but seemingly in doing so its deleted off the built in OSM mapping, garmin uk say it should be on my garmin express just to reinstall the map, but its not
is there anywhere else I can get it at all? any ideas?
Is it the same base map as the 520? I made a back up of mine before doing any changes, and can send this to you if it's the same. You'd then just re-install it.
If you aren't wedded to the originals, the article by DC Rainmaker shows how to get other mapping onto the device
hey richardk, no bud, its the newest version, it has the same os 1:50k full uk mapping as a edge 820 explore or edge 1000, so a full on colour map built into the unit, but formatting it seemed to have rid the device of it, even tho its preloaded
I have looked at the dc rainmaker ones and its a option I hope if this fails, but I should have full built in maps (which is why I bought it)
fingers crossed garmin come back with a solution, assume it is just a case of loading the map onto the unit itself as a file like you suggest, but the proper one
infact scrap that, cracking idea about the maps from that site, I did it as a test and its working perfectly, with full turn by turn 🙂 so hopefully ill get the 'proper' map from garmin as it should have it built in, but this works fine too
cheers for the help bud
