Hi,
I have an Edge 1000 which I've owned from new for many years and it used to upload via Bluetooth linked to my phone. This just stopped connecting ~6 months ago and attempting to re-pair it just ends in a failure even though they see each other.
So I swapped it to WiFi and that was working fine until a couple of weeks ago, now it won't upload via that either! It connects to my home (or phone as a hotspot) but won't upload. I disabled auto upload and went in and hit upload rides, nothing.
Google suggested semi corrupted ride file so I installed Garmin Express on the work PC, plugged in via USB and it auto synced straight away! Since doing that last week I've done a couple more rides and they still won't auto upload so I will have to bring it into work again.
Any suggestions? I do have a set of Z2 forks which are kinda like Bombers and frozen sausages in the freezer but I'm looking for alternative options
thanks
Have you done a full factory reset? That should clear any corrupt files.
Not tried that. Will it sync back all the data from Garmin online once I link it back up? Ok it won't be the end of the world if the Edge itself has no historical data as I can still view it on my phone logging into Garmin and it syncs to Strava as well. It's on the most recent Firmware as well I should add else would have tried that
Do you know if cards are still locked? I have OS maps on Microsd which came with my previous 800(?) and it's so slow to navigate around, my theory being it's a first gen microsd so getting a newer card would speed it up but I seem to recall the map files are locked to the card so I can't just copy over
thanks

I don't think so. The way I use mine I wouldn't really care but I can see how others might want that. Everything I've ever recorded is in Connect.
Ok will give the reset a try as it's all online anyway 🙂
thanks
scotroutes - That worked! It is now linked backup by Bluetooth and uploaded a test 'ride' walking around my office. It's also retained all my history or perhaps it downloaded it again as it took about 10 minutes to sync the first time via the connect app. Now just need to set up my activity profile screens again
thanks!
Cool. Is it a bit faster now too?
Only done one ride just now but the map did seem a bit quicker, still get delays when you scroll around but it's an ancient sd card. Just uploaded this proper ride by itself 🙂
