I have a Garmin Edge touring.

Question 1:

I just bought an SD card with these on from eBay.  It's a 4Gb card, and is basically full.  I also have an 8Gb card with Garmin OSM based maps of Europe on it, which came with the device.  Can I simply get a 16Gb card and copy the files from the 4Gb onto the 16Gb?

Question 2:

The Discoverer maps are routable on road - but apparently not off-road.  Are they meant to be?  Should I be doing something different?

If its a genuine SD card, then the maps are probably locked to the serial number of the card. So it won't work if you copy it onto another card. Unless you can find a hack or key generator...

Yes, the maps are only routable on road. They are basically just a picture of the OS maps, plus they have the Garmin City Navigator maps as a hidden layer. So the routing is much the same as City Nav, ie only on roads.

If you want off-road routing, OpenStreetMap is probably more useful.

Thanks!

I'll try copying them then see how legit they are 🙂

Well they aren't as good as the OSM maps cos they are bitmaps, and don't zoom.
