I've just noticed from a recent ride that Garmin Connect and Strava give different data from the same ride (uploaded from a Garmin 800.
Average speed (moving) is slightly different (20 vs 19.7) as is distance, ride time and max speed.
Just curious how the same data from the same device can give two different results for fairly basic analysis on two different websites. The differences are only small but I'd expect the sites to give identical results.
Cheers
it's the alogrithms they use to join the dots up.
Strava will tend to place you on a segment and pick the distance from that. Garmin will just draw the shortest line between each point.
That would make sense. Thanks.
