Giving up trying to get my gps working on my Samsung note 8 with Strava or anything else so thinking about a Garmin but I know nothing about the models. Fancy one with a map on screen. Is there such a thing or am I dreaming ?
What’s the battery life like on these things ? Anything I should know ?

Another one for the Garmin Edge Explore

Ive had the following Garmins and the Edge Explore has been the best of them

Edge 800
Edge 810
Edge 820

My only gripe with my Edge Explore is the elevation seems to be off by around 500-700ft on a big ride until i upload it to strava where it corrects it and then shows the correct elevation which is 500-700ft more than what the Garmin said

Explore, unless you need fancy training features (in which case 830) or simply want to spend tons of cash (1030) or want to spend as little as possible but still get a good unit (secondhand 810).

As far as battery life goes I get about 12 hours out of my Explorer depending on how much I use battery saver mode, and probably an hour or so less out of the 810 (but it’s a fair bit older so it’s doing ok).
