So daughter has bought a new cassette, GARBARUK cassette 10- 48 on a SRAM fitting, what rear derailleur will work without buying additional long link for the derailleur?
Not fussed on make as we have all on bikes in the households... SRAM Shimano and microshift....

Will a 12 speed set up work on 11 speed cassette?

Thanks

Pretty sure a standard 11 speed long cage derailleur works fine. Doesn’t particularly matter on brand. Garbar are meant to work with most. I know a few people with the 12 speed version and just use the standard 12 speed GX derailleur.

Any 11sp mech will work on a 11sp Garbaruk cassette.

Regular cage 11speed is fine up to 48t.
All my 50t builds use the garbaruk cage

I'm using a std GRX 810 RD on an 11-51 without extender on two different bikes so that'd work if you're going drop bar
