Just read the piece about Garagebikes in Morley, leeds. One look at the picture of the shop and the memories came flooding back. Its only located in what used to be"Stevies" bike shop! Legendary in, well quite popular in Morley.

All and I mean all my bikes pre adult came from there, from a little blue thing with stabilisers, through Tomahawks,Puch Pacemaker (5 Speed) to a Peugeot road bike. Nice to see a bike shop there again. I will have to pop in when I'm over there. I wonder if they still do the Christmas club?

Does anyone else remember Stevies?

I thought Stevies' was a few doors down from where Garage is (same street though)?

Used to be a regular in there when I first got into mountain biking, trying to throw a very, very POS Falcon Sierra round Cockersdale led to biweekly visits with pringled wheels.

I highly recommend garagebikes btw, great shop.

We're in the shop that used to be Stevies. The it was Malcolm Barkers for a while.

Been a few other things in the last 12 years and now a Bike shop again.

My first bike came from here. A Raleigh Bluebird no less.

I'm coming over all misty eyed and nostalgic...

Stevie's was where all our bikes came from as kids. Favourite for me was a Puch XB20 BMX - stuff of legends. Many mis-spent hours jumping round the Eg wood in Tingley.

And agree, its great to see it back as a bike shop, Big Al is doing a sterling job.

Landed on my head on a tree stump in Briar Wood. Totally lost any memory of that day. It was 2 weeks before my wedding, she was not happy with the damage to my face.

Ok, where is Brier / Briar Wood? Google took me to a golf course in North Carolina. I'm guessing that's not right..

Brier/ Briar Wood was/is at the bottom of Howden Clough opposite the tip. Its always been used by moto cross guys but would make a great but small off road track.
