Hi all
Garage broken into last night, fortunately b###ards only took a Road bike - recon the alarm going off made 'em scarper. MTBS all chained with a f***k off big chain - carbon framed road bike hanging to avoid damage. Fortunately the coppers have caught 3 of the toe rags who drove away but the bike was ridden away - wet last night so hopefully the ****er fell off - keo pedals not very grippy without cleats especially in the wet.
Anyway
Location - North west Leicester
Bike - Wilier Izoard (white & silver) White DT swiss mon chaseral wheels Campagnolo 11 speed mix of Chorus, Record & Super Record - Ritchey Carbon Bars, White Ritchey stem, Fsa Carbon seat post Selle Flite Carbon rail saddle & white bar tape
Apparently the gits they caught are fro Braunstone area & the police think the bike may be headed that way!!??
Keep 'em peeled folks.
Cheers

Result
The Rozzers have recovered my bike - toe rag got about 150 metres - I live at the bottom of a hill - I guess they found a 53 chainring hard work & they couldn't work out the gears!!
Big smiles & big respect to the police & my neighbour who alerted them.

Nice.
What i don't get is if the scotes stole £3k's worth of gear from a shop theres agood chance they would see some jail time. But if the break in to your home and nick a £3k bike cahnces are they won't do any jail time.
****ers.

Yeah I see where you're comin from spesh - thing is tying them down to the crime - no finger prints - but the reg of their car was reported - hence how they got caught - in fact neighbour followed them & flagged down the rozzers - the area was flooded with cops as it was a quiet night crime wise!

Unless further evidence comes to light, I can't see any chance of a succesful prosecution. If they'd been seen in your property, on the bike, caught with the bike, any forensics, a witness saying "I can confirm these 3 were seen coming out of your address, getting into the car and driving away etc... Then yes, but just because they are well known shits (probably in an area they've no business being in), I think not.

Nice.

In actual fact, dwelling house burglary is taken a lot more seriously than commercial burglary(both taken seriously but dwelling is usually the priority over commercial). Being a "Rozzer", I'll HAPPILY nick every thieving shithead I can (its my reason for being), but when the sticky question of evidence arises, you need to be a bit prudent.

Mildred
My comment wasn't about catching them, it was about their punishment.
Maybe if a few of our local beeks had their bikes stolen we might see a change.

I agree entirely - most live down leafy lane where crime is that thing that happens to others. In my experience, most of them are not grounded in reality, and fall hook, line, and sinker for any sob story offered; "its not their fault, but societies" (my arse).

This is a leafy village where crime should be elsewhere!!
Of course Mildred a prosecution is a lot to ask for but they were seen by the neighbour who I subsequently found out followed in his car, flagged down one of you guys & sent them in the right direction - prossecution is a lot to ask - not because i think the police are crap - far from it - i think they do a fantastic job with ever shrinking funding - it must be a real kick in the teeth when your efforts don't conclude with the hoped for conviction.

It is a bastard. However, it must be said that whilst ever Billy Burglar "puts up a struggle" on arrest, many coppers will "dispense some justice" from their "judicial pharmacy" (boots, cuffs, stick, CS, Tazer etc). Indeed, it's surprising how many not-so-loveable rogues do "put up a struggle".

Time to rethink your garage security because the Fe#kers will be back with a chain cutter. Just because they got caught doesn't mean they won't try again. They will pass on the info to their scum mates!
