Having got a mixed review on my question about Dainese Skins I've been looking at G-Form Pro-X Knee Pads.

Anyone here have any experience with them please? I mainly do XC and trails - circa 3 hour rides.

Thanks.

I have looked at Bliss on CRC you think they are better than G-Form?

I've got the G-Form knee pads.
Very, very comfortable. I wear them all day.
They would take the edge off a crash to the knees but obviously the padding is fairly minimal.
Still, I wear them all the time as they're so comfy.

I've got some dainese knees and gform elbows, both comfy all day for me and the skins certainly seem like they'd offer more protection.

We have been using the G Form for a few years after a recommendation from a top female Enduro rider. Have used them all over the UK and in the Alps. They are comfortable for all day epics and have done the job on numerous crashes. Would definitely buy again once they wear out

Again have been using them for a good while now, on every ride regardless & they've been great. Lycra/stitching is failing now (already had them repaired), so I'll be replacing them with Dainese Trailskins (mk1). I think your reading too much into one or two posts from ppl that they didn't fit.. do a search g/form pads & you'll find exactly the same issue.. not every piece of clothing/pad fit every body shape.

As z1ppy says. My first choice was g-form but when I tried them on realised they didn't quite fit so went for Trailskins.
Had a similar experience looking for elbow pads - went to the Evans warehouse and tried them all on while ignoring the brand names, as soon as I put on the Fox Launch I knew they were right but they certainly weren't what I had in mind when I went in. Also gets around the size issues between brands.

FWIW the Bliss Minimalist ones didn't fit me at all, too tight and too loose at the same time. Went straight back.

I'm still wearing my ancient Kyle Straits, but I think I'll replace them this year for something a bit lighter this year.

I have the gform elbows and tested them a few times, they're about as protective as a couple of layers of clothes ime. Total waste of money. I do still wear them occasionally as they fit under other clothes but they're 9/10ths armwarmer.

I'm down on minimal kneepads in general, unless you want to wear them under trousers there doesn't seem much point- bulkier pads are no less sweaty, should be comfy if they fit, and do the job much better- better protection and better coverage. There's so little drawback.

Loving my Dakine Slayers. They don't seem to get the plaudits that other pads sometimes get, but I think they're brilliant.

Famine Slayers get decent reviews - are they all day / up hill comfortable?

Yep, no worries for long days out. Coming from Fox Launch Pros, they're a lot less bulky and nowhere near as sweaty. Not quite as minimal as gforms, but they feel like they're up to a lot more.

Though i guess fit is everything.
