I am after a nice set of wheel that I can keep for a while.
currently I run 9mmq/r forks however in the future I will more than likely upgrade to a nice set of either 15mm or 20mm bolt through??
what wheelsets are out there that can do both with different adpators??
cheers
steve
Hope, 'nuff said
superstar switch evo hubs can do that.
Hope proII front and rear is all you need for life.
+ 1 for Hope Pro 2 Evo build - So easy to change the front Qr - 15mm - 20mm with adaptors.
You can also change the rear to 10mm Bolt-thru or Bolt-up and stiffen the rear and it will fit in standard drop-outs.
I run them with Stans Flows and they are sweet 🙂
cheers.
who does the best hope builds then and what rims would you suggest??I want a nice strong wheelset but obviously not heavy.
cheers
steve
You could try some of the hope hoops prebuilt wheels. I've used both good hand builts and hoops and the hoops are just as good IME.
I got handbuilts from Merlin but the hoops you just need to google for a cheap price.
Cheapest price I have seen is here http://www.progressive-bikes.co.uk/
He posts on here too.
Rim wise the flow would be good, reported to be strong* easy to run tubeless and lighter than anything else in the same marketing range.
*I've only ever ridden the XC rims like the crest but thye hold up as well as the equivalent Mavics.
I got my Hoops from Cycleworld in Arbroath, Scotland.
They are a Hope Tech centre, so you can choose the hub colour 🙂
Chris is a nice chap and im sure he would price match and deliver
Superstar switch evo's
Any axle front and rear , job done.
If you want to spend a wee bit more, I just got DT Swiss 240s on Arch EX from actionbikes.de for £405.
