Yes, used quite a few of them over the years, what do you want to know?

How comfortable is it, useable for occassional XC riding or is it too DH orientated?

they're not really very comfortable. They're just cheap reasonably strong/light and a good shape for DH/4X use.
I used to use one on my hardtail and DH bike but the hardtail is a dirt jump/4X bike and I don't sit down a whole lot other than when I'm climbing, I did plenty all day rides on it though and it wasn't too bad but certainly not 'comfortable' so I'd probably avoid if that's what you're primary goal is. I now use a charge spoon on the hardtail as it is pretty similar (also made by velo) but quite a bit more comfortable for all day rides.
I still run funn RLs on one DH bike and a race BMX comfort's obviously not an issue at all on those but beware if you run your saddle pretty far back on the rails as most seatpost clamps will stick out wider than the saddle padding and cause bruising to the inner thigh area while using it for control.

Gusset also do pretty much the same saddle as the Charge (different colours/designs and a little cheaper)
