My bike is a bit boring and detached from the trail it may be because it is 29 but it isn't fun. I was looking at an Orange to replace it, any other ideas?

My Karate Monkey is good fun and that's a 29er. Personally I like using a bike not necessarily best suited to trail riding, fixed gear, weird SS stuff, Fat bikes, etc. It's whatever works for you, try lots of bikes, enjoy....

Try an pear instead of a orange.

Only joking. I am with flashes on average local trails to me being on a simple bike is much more fun as what is dull on a "trail" bike becomes more of a challenge.

P7 is very fun, but I've got a Five too and that's just as fun and also more comfortable and versatile.

One man's fun sponge is another man's thrill seeking missile.

That said, there's far more to a fun bike than picking a wheel size.

The most fun you'll get from a 29er is throwing it in the skip

My last two bikes have been a Salsa Horsethief and a Giant Reign, both exceedingly capable and fast but not fun. I'm going to go for the new bfe in a bid to bring back the hilarity. I also have a Pugsley and this is fun and a Rooster and its somewhere in between. I've high hopes for the bfe.

Fat bike.

It's like a 29er, but with 4" tyres and an anger management problem.

all bikes are fun, if you are not enjoying riding then the problem is clearly that you are a dull and dreary little soul, especially if you are looking at a halifax filing cabinet to brighten your life.

Have you considered taking up golf instead or maybe pedaling a bit faster to increase the interest, or riding with one eye closed, or a unicycle, or maybe even and e-bike?

Well this escalated haha

I'm with gwurk with this one, and the gold club is next door tazzymtb 😉

I just want a bike that's a trail f*ck fest stabbing you in the back.

Should probably ride a unicycle blind down fort bill to enlighten my dull soul

that is bloomin great idea, I'll join you 😀
we can market it as the next big enduro thing , make the unicycle 27.5 and paint it dayglo and have a troylee blindfold etc..

we'll be rich I tell ya, rich!

then we can afford to run away and get married.

That's a good thread but the main conclusion I got is that it is either slope bikes or out dated bikes. They mentioned a Blur and a Banshee. But I would like something that goes up hills. The Banshee spitfire looks interesting.

Get an e-bike if you can't be arsed to put any effort in 😉

Regarding the 134 I keep hearing 'fun' in reviews and neutral feel so it's probably perfect, I'll have to test a 134, Banshee and Orange then. Cheers
