Evening folks,

I’m thinking about my next N+1 and would be grateful of any ideas for possible contenders.

- Either full sus or hardtail

- 29er or 650b (would consider plus size tyres)

- Max 140mm travel or less

- Must have 2 bottle cage mounts (for 600ml or above)

- Steel frame preferred but would consist others

- Reasonably fun / slack

- Clearance for 2.35 at least tyres

- 2 wheels (essential)

Cheers

According to their website, the new Cotic SolarisMax has two sets of bottle mounts on the downtube.

Literally just discovered the Solaris Max about 10 minutes ago. Seems to tick every box!

They make them in steel tick

Does on the frame count? If so, I'll recommend my Chameleon which is awesome!

I'll add another vote for the Genesis Tarn, I paid £130 for my frame and stock fork, it's an absolute giggle to ride!

2nd bottle cage is underslung, not sure if the newer ones have 2 inside the triangle

I have a Whyte 905, has three sets of bottle mounts. Nice and long, mine comes with stock 2.8 tyres. Best hardtail I’ve had, albeit some of the other options here I have no doubt are also awesome.
