You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
The SL frameset is cheaper than the normal one. I'm looking for a gravel bike with more of an emphasis on fast rather than fat - would this fit the bill or is there a reason why they are cheap? I am aware that some bikes from the PX stable are not always that well thought through.
Has anyone first hand use knowledge of the max tyre width - I will probably only go 35mm but would like the choice of 40mm in the future
I think it will be ok for a 40 - I have the SL with 35/37 and there's still quite a bit of clearance.
I've got 40mm wtb nanos in mine with plenty of room
is there a reason why they are cheap?
It’s not an ongoing model and we just want to tidy up and move forward.

BUMP
I'm looking at these and am confused with them being the same price point. Which one should I buy? I've never bought a not mtb before and don't understand the differences. Just need a commuter that I can use for social road rides (sorry mum) and gravel and flat mtb trails.
Would imagine the SL will fit your requirements, especially if it's a road over gravel bias. Had mine built up for a couple of weeks now and it's great 👍
Although I can't testify what the 1X groupset would be like on the road, mine is 2x9.
Cheers that was quick! In terms of time spent on it it will be mostly road commuting but I am likely to ride it on Danish 'mtb trails' as I'm a moron like that. Seems to be very little between them and XL in stock in both.
I have Full Monty SL pretty much as good as new in the classifieds....
Nice climb cross of greet.
Great photo.
I'm glad you're running it with flats, that would be my approach too
