I teach and play piano for a living and need to look after my hands riding! [and not fall off, but that's another story]
I have big but very slim hands. (ie. easily palm a basketball, can stretch an 11th on a piano).
I went looking at forums and HandUP gloves were recommended for long fingers, but they were far from long enough in the size recommended on the HandUP site.
Currently in an ancient pair of Troy Lee in XXL or XXXL and they're both baggy on the palm and not long enough on fingers, and destroyed.
Would go for a minimal pair, but have got into goofing around in the woods and having some knuckle protection has been great for bashing the occasional tree out the way.
Any tips/ideas would be much appreciated, cheers!
Fox Dirtpaws are my go to glove for large sizing and protection. I'm not sure if my hands are slim, they're not brick layer sized but I do have long fingers. I'm in the 3XL with them, but they go up to 4XL I think.
Edit. Minimal gloves my fingers end up poking through the ends after a few rides...
I have the troy lees in a Xxl and they fit perfectly - so if you want something that big but slimmer fit I’d suggest ION. I have a pair of Gats in XL and they are snugger than the Troys, but the fingers are actually longer.
6ft3 ex basketball player who can hold a basket ball one handed and could dunk it.
Im currently using alpkits xl gloves which are excellent but no knuckle protection.
Just how big are your hands?
Opposite problem here.
I struggle to get gloves for my broad hands even in the biggest sizes, but my finger length is short.
I could cut maybe half an inch out of the middle of each finger on my gloves and send it to you to stitch into yours maybe.
No?
ta for the ideas everyone, that's great. @damascus sounds like we have similar sized paws...I used to dunk a bit too and can pick a basketball up one handed from the top, but it's not stupidly easy like for Shaq or whoever. Those Alpkit ones look great, didn't realise they made bike equipment, just wish they had the knuckle protection for trees/road rage etc.
