I recently picked up a pair of the older Fulcrum Racing 3’s to go on my steel road bike very cheaply, and was surprised to learn that despite an uninterrupted inner rim wall that they are not actually rated for tubeless use. It seems there were 2 versions, one for tubeless and one for normal tubed tyres, but both had no drilling on the inner rim.
Anyway... I’m a tubeless convert, have been for ages. Anybody successfully run these non-tubeless Racing 3’s tubeless? I’m imagining maybe a wrap or two of Stans or DT Swiss tubeless tape to bulk the ERD up a touch should do the trick, or do they just work as is?
Any help or advice gratefully appreciated.
1st Post for me.
I am using Fulcrum 3 tubeless ( non 2 way fit) trouble free.
Just fitted tubeless valves and the Hutchinson Fusion S went up fine with a track pump.
They were easier than some tubeless specific wheels.
