Rebuilt it with new bearings (strewth! that was an education compared to Hope's!), put back together and clicky free hub isn't very clicky any more, although it is running fine
suspect I over greased the pawls. Are you meant to grease them at all?

I usually use oil but I suspect the grease will get pushed out of the way in due course and clickiness will return

So long as it's not slipping it'll be fine - my Campag (same as Fulcrum) hubs do the same post-service.
