The non-drive side bearing is grinding and clicking, and seems to be shot. Can it be replaced, or does the whole BB unit have to be replaced? I'd rather the former, as the latter option seems so wasteful. The drive side bearing is fine.
Plus; are they replaceable with a Shimano BB, as these are much cheaper. Cranks are Gossamer.
I suspect they're similar to the Shimano version, i.e. just disposable and supposedly not repairable but there are probably ways and means to put new bearings in, though I suspect it'll cost as much as just getting a new one.
IIRC the FSA alloy megaexo are Shimano compatible. The carbon fibre crank ones aren't.
No offence, but do you actually know this ie have you actually tried it and made it work, or is this simply supposition?
Does anyone else have any info on this?
I popped the cover off my bearing, cleaned them out and regreased them and that did the trick.
Could you pop the bearing out of the bb and see if there is a bearing number on it? then give it a google to see if you can source a supplier
Yes fsa bb bearings are replacable and fsa sell the bearings and the tools to do it.
