My front wheel is out by apx 50mm. It's sits in pretty straight when loose but as I tighten the maxle it pushes the wheel out by quite a bit. 15mm maxel, hope pro 2 hubs.
Is this normal? Quite annoying looking down and seeing the wheel not sat straight in the forks

50mm is huge - are we talking off-centre or buckled? It sounds more like a fundamental wheel / fork alignment issue - are you sure there's not something that's preventing the wheel from seating in the forks correctly?

Flip it round to see if out by same amount the other way or not, this will tell you if it's the wheel or fork to blame.

Check for debris, burs, damage etc on axle, hub ends and dropouts to see if anything pushing it out of line, you only need something small at hub end to push it out but a few more mm at the rim.

You could also get the wheel dish checked at LBS and try alternative wheels or your wheel in another fork

if you can rule out all of the things above about it sitting ok in the drop outs it might just be that the wheel is slightly out of dish.

fairly easy to fix, if you loosen the spokes on one side by half a turn and then tighten the ones on the other by the same amount the rim should move over. Just make sure before you start that you know which way is looser and which way is tighter. and make sure that you only do each spoke once (work from the valve hole round). And work in small amounts, maximum of half a turn adjustment on each spoke.
