For commuting, I have lights to see where I'm going and several rear ones to see where Ive been. But would like another flashing light up front to hopefully add a bit more eye catching visibility. I have the hi-vis vest too.

Smaller the better but something with a real punch!! Any good ones I should be checking out.

Thanks for the suggestions, all of those look great. The Flea is looking like the winner though on size and price.
Cheers

Exposure Flash is very good - but must be run on the rechargeable batteries to get the full output. I'd not be without mine.

Is it their own rechargeable batteries? Whats the cost on those?

I use their own - although others are available. £9 for two batteries or £18 for two batteries and the charger.

It's a lot less bright on disposables.

Just looked it up - 40 lumens on disposables, 110 lumens on rechargeables.

Am I the only person that find flashing front lights really annoying and unnecessary? For some reason flashing rear lights don't bother me.

Are the lights to see by not bright enough?

Appreciate you looking that up mate, I'll have a look into it and see what weighs up the most appropriate.

The lights are plenty bright enough but a flashing like catches the eye of the driver way quicker and at some greater distance than a constant light IMO!!
I have a constant and a flashing on the back and just wanted a similar set up on the front.

Nope, me too. There were loads of people on the Bristol-Bath cycle plath with mega bright flashing lights, not sure what they are hoping to achieve. Also some with a blue tint look too much like police/ambulance lights in the twilight. IMHO they should be treated like foglights or main beam: used when required but not all the time.

Aldi doing a F&R set for £6.50. The front has two flash modes and is as bright as an AA Tesco torch.

Bargaintastic, I bought three sets.

I bought the Aldi lights, wasn't expecting much and didn't get it.
The front light is tosh! rear is ok, but the holder for the front is excellent and currently used for the homemade front light on my road bike!

Those Flea ones are great, especially when you consider that they recharge straight from a USB, therefore saving having to carry a heavy charger or keep buying new batteries.

I've used a set for two winters so far, including unlit unsurfaced country lanes, and been very impressed by how bright they are for their tiny size.

I use a flea 80% of time but have a joystick and Diablo if I know I'll be working late or setting of very early.

It's excellent for size and USB charging is another positive.

I bought those Aldi lights and I live in rural darkness and find the front light fine for the pub bike
