You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
i know they're pretty unused these days but i'm trying to build up a touring bike from bits so wanted to fit a mtb triple crankset to a frame where it has a braze on adapter for the front derailleur.
Is there such a thing as a mtb triple front derailleur that has braze-on (type F in Shimano speak) fitting? I'm struggling to find one.....
Is is a braze on adapter or a brazed on mount? If the former just take it off? If it's the latter (I presume it is otherwise you wouldn't be asking) then would a road triple front derailleur work? The chain line is slightly different, but it should swing far enough. If it did exist it would be part number FD-T8000-F, which doesn't seem to exist.
Yeah its a brazed on mount.
As i understand it the pull is different for road shifting so there might not be enough or be too much cable (cant remember which).
removing the brazed on mount is looking like the best bet it seems.
Road triple mechs work with MTB triple cranksets but they don't like smaller than 26t inner rings. Gap bettwen rings is same on road and mtb triple but levers and mech need to match
Microshift do a braze on triple front mech for 9 spd

Says you want one of these,
but agree with tinas that it doesn't look like what you want or that you can get one from the MTB line.
If you look in the Road triple bit, there are some flat bar options in the shifters.
Road triple mechs work with MTB triple cranksets
Only if you are lucky and the mech swings out far enough - chain lines are 45mm for road and 50mm for mtb if I remember correctly. You can get an eccentric adaptor to work with 26.8mm frame & 34.9mm mech to overcome this though.
