My 8yr old nephew has just received one as a birthday pressie. It's very impressive, good spec with v-brakes, small controls, 7 speed, paint finish looks very good and apparently, he spent all day Sunday on it with his mates. It looks fab in red and is obviously the faster one.
Used values seem to hold up too.

We looked in detail at the 24 in the summer for youngest.....bought an islabikes Beinn 24 after weighing up both, spec, weight, cost, resale.
