Seal would be my guess - How sticky is it? can you turn the pedals backward without the chain going slack? does the chain go slack when yo freewheel?

Its a five minute job to sort anyway

Hi

Was it doing that before you went to the bike shop? the Pro 2 isn't that hard to strip and service, I have a couple of them, prefer the bulbs action if I'm honest, less drag.

Why not just strip it down and have a look 😀 or show us a clip of exactly what it's doing and the sound it makes ❓

havent ridden it since so duno if chain goes slack... it doesnt go slack when i test it in the house. if there was too much grease what would happen ? when i first got the bike back he said the moise of the hub wouldnt be noisy at first due to excess grease etc.... anyway the nice noise of the hub came back the other day so yep a fone call is on the cards first thing tomorow... 😉
its a relatively new bike shop so dont know them that well..but they serviced my sons freehub and his is ok.... wierd realy.....

Cool!

So the freehub is binding and the pedals rotate when you push the bike forwards ❓

Sorry to highjack, but HOW do you get the free hub off a Pro II? I believe its quite easy but so far I'm not having any success with mine

carlos - vids / instuctions on teh hope site.

You need to pull the spacer off the end of the spindle and sometimes it sticks badly. once that is off he freehub just pulls off or should do - again a bush inside can stick

Good guide, I would use a cotton bud to apply the grease much easier to use and apply grease accurately in terms of placement and amount.

I would also say to check your pawl springs, the Pro 2's aren't as durable as the bulb hub ones and go fairly often.

Fixing bikes is fun and very satisfying!
