Far better than I could have put it. Anyone else enjoying comfort from clothing and saddles* that fit you, rather than layering up padding, and applying questionable lubricant to your nether regions?

*Underarmor boxers and Charge Spoon for me, but welcome other suggestions.

I find without a chamois my arse becomes sore fairly quickly, and without support I end up constantly mashing Jimmy and The Twins between the saddle and my thigh, but whatever works for you—I’m not sure anyone really cares too much what anyone else is wrapping their gonads up in. Maybe they do, maybe there’s a whole subculture around it, I dunno 🙂

Well aware I'm in the minority, was wondering quite how alone I was. Lathering up your bottom and wearing full roadie bib shorts under mtb shorts and jersey in the height of summer seems like an uncomfortable and awkward faff to me. We are all different though...

Having suffered a pustulated sore on day 1 of a 1000 mile ride I don't take undercarriage maintenance for granted anymore.

I finished the ride by the way, by using a diffrent short design, applying bucketloads of bum butter and using the magic metanium overnight.

No chamois for me. But I don't often ride longer than 2hrs. I've got some padded shorts but can't stand the feel of them. Much prefer lightweight underwear. Especially in hot weather. Lightweight shorts too. I have some lightweight swimming shorts I removed the mesh from for this weather!

See also, warm weather baggy shorts with vents in legs but a waist constructed of thick & stiff material layered onto itself with dozens of folds.

Id love to ditch the chamois.

Has anyone tried the Saxx Ballpark?

If they work as intended they might be the answer to my prayers. Nothing worse than having your hot, wet danglers grinding into your hairy thighs all day. And people have a nerve to complain about 'man spreading'. Do they not know there's an anatomical requirement for it?

10 years of baggy shorts, stretchy synthetic boxers (mostly M&S I think) and no padding. Normal ride usually 3 hours odd, no problems on all-day rides though.

“Id love to ditch the chamois.“

You don’t need a chamois, you need underwear that’s tight, not baggy!

So true, as I'm doing it for years and years and finding it the only option of my bottom parts.

Only proper bibshorts and good bum butter all the way.

Cheers!
I.

Who said I was wearing baggy underwear? I've been in trunk boxers forever and proper cycling shorts or bibs on the bike at all times.

I still think a separate pouch that prevents your spuds being mashed would be great.
